Hello everyone,

we are currently planning the ceiling spotlights but are having a hard time making a decision.

Here are our ideas.

What do you think, or do you have better suggestions?

Option 1

2D floor plan of a house with open living and dining area, kitchen, and stairs

Option 2

2D floor plan of a living and dining area with open kitchen, seating area, and red outline

Option 3

Floor plan of an open living and kitchen area with dining table and seating

Thank you.

Regarding the furniture,
The table fits well in terms of size and will just be adjusted slightly upwards to be centered with the window.

The living room is planned as shown for now, but a seating set will be added later, arranged in a U-shape.

The lights will be off when watching TV; instead, we will use a floor lamp and possibly LED strips behind the TV wall.

In version 4, the three rows can be switched individually.

Walls, ceilings, and floors are light-colored.

That’s some useful information. Please add it to your plan (with the correct sizes and positions) so we can better understand it. For example, it would still bother me if the lamp above the dining table isn’t centered over it.

A hanging lamp belongs above the dining table and a lower light source near the sofa for reading.

I agree about the dining table. That usually looks much better and makes sitting there more comfortable. I have not found a need for a lower light source near the sofa yet.

Tastes vary so much... I think recessed spotlights above the dining table are brilliant and I love having a lower light source by the sofa, for example, for reading.

This is the approximate plan for the furniture.

What was charged to you for the enclosure (here with us Kaiser Halox 1291 - 22)?

I can understand that the electrician doesn’t want to compete with internet prices; but double the price??? Is that really necessary?

We installed "Spelsberg enclosure IBTronic XL H 185 F junction box" at a price of just under 34 euros net (40 euros gross).

Our enclosure was also available somewhat cheaper online, but you always have to consider installation including precise positioning. So from my point of view, the price was reasonable. In our case, it wasn’t billed by the electrician but through the building materials supplier who delivered the ceiling.
