During final inspection, we found two deep scratches on the frame of the patio door. Replacement is not possible and would be far too expensive.

What do you think would be a reasonable compensation?

It is not in the visible area, and I can live with it.

You can have scratches on alloy wheels polished out, right? But they look quite deep on yours...

The problem is that the surface is matte. It wouldn’t be possible to make it so color-neutral that it is almost invisible.

Hi,

If this were my door, I would be satisfied with compensation of about 250 euros. Just going by gut feeling.

Best regards,
Thorsten

$250 for something that is out of sight? I believe it will be much less than that...

Well, whether it’s visible or not, the door/frame is damaged. That is a defect. I wouldn’t want to accept that in a new product.

When I weigh the effort and cost of replacement against the compensation, I still consider $250 quite reasonable.

Best regards,
