Hello everyone,

our house construction is progressing, and I wanted to share the current layout of the bathroom on the upper floor and ask for comments or suggestions for improvement.
The original idea was to have two separate washbasins/mirrors. The floor plan can no longer be changed, except the bathroom width can possibly be extended to 3 m (10 feet). There are no sloped ceilings.
Due to the narrow, elongated layout, I find it difficult to create space for two washbasins...
The long side is 5 m (16 feet), the narrow side is 2.76 m (9 feet).

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Regards,
Mathias

I would swap the bathtub and the shower.
Place the bathtub directly against the 45-degree wall to eliminate an awkward corner.
The shower could possibly be designed more rectangular than square.
Is there supposed to be a washing machine or something similar in the bathroom? Or why is the space next to the bathtub so empty?

Thank you,
yes, we had also considered swapping, especially since it would let more light into the shower. However, the window faces the street, and we are concerned that someone might still be able to look into the shower at an angle… but not into the bathtub.

The washing machine will be placed in a separate room. There is simply space for it there, possibly for a small cabinet or something similar.

We are now thinking of building a wall around the shower so that the entrance (about 70cm (28 inches)) is only on the angled wall.

But I’m sure that with 13 square meters (140 square feet), you can do “more”…

Hello,
It would be helpful to have the dimensions. How large is the shower planned to be? 1.50 x 1.50 meters (5 x 5 feet)?
It would also be interesting to know where the waste outlet is planned, in case the toilet needs to be repositioned.
And: are you planning a corner bathtub, or is it just a temporary solution?

Hello,

the shower is currently about 1.5 x 1.5 m (5 x 5 ft) according to the plan. This is just how it came out of the architect’s design software.
The bathtub is a hexagonal one, placed inside the room so that it creates a shelf in the corner behind it. However, it doesn’t have to be this specific bathtub shape. It should just be about 1.8 m (6 ft) in size/length.

As I said, if anyone has other ideas, feel free to share them. I can then directly consider those ideas.

The floor drain is located in the corner of the toilet area.

The room dimensions are 2.76 x 5.04 m (9 x 16.5 ft), with the shorter side by the stairs being 4 m (13 ft).

No sanitary fixtures have been purchased or selected yet, so everything is still open.

The water drain goes down in the corner of the toilet.

Do the shower and bathtub also have to be drained there? I would be genuinely interested in that solution (as a layperson).
