Hello everyone,
I wanted to hear your opinions and experiences regarding a separate home theater. What advantages and disadvantages do you see? The TV would then be removed from the living room.
On one hand, we want a bright living room, but watching TV in the dark is more enjoyable.

Similarly, men want to watch soccer while women discuss handbags 😉
Women want to watch their movie, men talk about shutter boxes. I think you can nicely position such a room centrally based on the floor plan. For this very reason, in our house the kitchen and dining area are one room, and the living room is a separate space. This way, people can also spend time separately on the ground floor without everyone having to do the same thing.
Basically, I think it’s good to have enough space to use an extra room as a retreat, a music room, or whatever else you might need.
We integrated our home theater directly into the living room. Every weekend, we watch Bundesliga on a projector with a 2.4m (7.9 ft) diagonal screen, and during the week we also enjoy a movie or series in the evenings. It gets dark enough with roller shutters, the screen can be raised electrically, and the projector is mounted on the ceiling. The speakers are small and screwed directly onto the wall.
