Hello,
we are currently finishing our house. In our new build, which has now taken 6 months, Q2-level gypsum plaster was applied to the walls.
What is better for a new build that has not yet been exposed to frost: filling and painting directly, or applying a painter’s fleece first and then painting?
Many thanks and best regards,
Ani

It's a white sponge: you can get it in multi-packs seasonally at Tchibo or Aldi. But a hardware store also has something like it. When dampened, you can use it to remove dirt marks from, for example, walls.

Good morning Yvonne,
Doesn't the paint get wiped off the wall every time you use it?
Regards, BauexperteNo, I haven’t experienced that so far—and I only have colored walls. But I have to admit that I forgot about this magic eraser for a long time; only recently a colleague recommended it to me.
It is made of foamed melamine resin, gets dampened, and breaks down during cleaning, becoming crumbly and needing to be replaced.
So far, I have used it successfully on the walls by the stairs, for removing leftover insect marks, and on the hardwood floor to eliminate scuff marks.
However, it also has some drawbacks, which you can find by searching for magic eraser on stain removal websites.
Best regards, Yvonne

We only painted our gypsum plaster as well. However, we had an agreement with our plasterer to make the surface as smooth as possible so we could paint it. It only needed priming and then painting.
It looks good. The important thing is not to use the cheapest paint. How long have you been living in the house? We often hear that if you paint directly without using a painting fleece first, cracks can become visible relatively quickly.

But I prefer to see them and keep them under control rather than covering them up and not noticing them.
If these cracks bother you, it’s better to use wallpaper.
